(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police believe they are on the heels of solving a gruesome murder investigation.
Julian Grace , of WISH TV8 reports, on Nov. 15, Thomas Keys's body was found inside One Start Media in the 2000 block of East 46th Street.
The 22-year-old was found duct-taped and zip-tied, and he was shot multiple times. According to court documents, investigators believe Keys and his cousin were lured to the studio by owner Carlton Hart, 44, to work on some music.
Once inside, Keys and his cousin were held hostage by a group of masked men. The two were questioned for two to three hours about the murder death of Hart's cousin, Brandon McMitchell.
McMitchell, also known as Bango, was shot and killed while riding in a car on Nov. 11 near 30th Street and Andrew J. Brown.
Court documents pick up the story from there. The men cut off the lights and shot Keys and his cousin. Police add that Keys' cousin pretended he was dead. The suspects then left the studio. That's when the cousin got up and ran for help at the CVS Pharmacy located at 46th Street and Keystone Avenue.
The surviving victim pointed the finger squarely at Hart as the one who set up the murderous plot. Hart was interviewed and he denied his role in the crime. However, police found video of Hart at Lowe's in Glendale purchasing duct tape and zip ties the same day Keys was murdered.
This is not the first time Hart has been under investigation for murder. Back in 2008 he was accused of shooting two brothers on the west side of Indianapolis. Richard Miller died in that shooting. Hart served two years in the county jail until charges were later dismissed in the case because prosecutors say they lacked evidence to prosecute Hart.
After his release, Hart filed a lawsuit against the Discovery Channel who he says misrepresented him in the hit show "The Shift".
In addition to arresting Hart, police arrested Dontee Robinson, 20, on charges of murder and kidnapping.
Currently, police are looking for three other men connected to the shooting -- Dominique Hamler, 20; James McDuffy, 29; and Nathaniel Armstrong, 20. If you have any information you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
