(TERRE HAUTE) - Fire crews rescued a man having a heart attack on top of a silo in Terre Haute Wednesday.
WTHI reports, Terre Haute and Sugar Creek fire crews got the call around 1:30 p.m.
Fire officials say a man had a heart attack on top of a silo. Paramedics were forced to perform CPR on top of the silo.
Due to a one man elevator belt, fire crews had to call in a rope rescue team to lower the man down.
Battalion Chief Ron Steiner, with the Terre Haute Fire Department says, "Some of the rope rescue technicians and Terre Haute technicians went on top of the building. Latter 5 set the aerial up and they lowered him on to the aerial and from the aerial onto the ground and into the ambulance."
Battalion Chief Steiner says it took about 45 minutes for fire crews to get the man down due to limited access to the top.
The male was taken to regional hospital, his condition is still unknown.
