(Carroll County) - A construction worker was killed in a construction site accident.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff's Department, emergency crews were dispatched to the Hoosier Heartland Highway construction site near Delphi, Ind.

Deputies and fire crews arrived at the scene around 1:15 p.m. Friday attempting to locate a missing construction worker.

Around 2:15 p.m. the body of Arthur Kerns, 30, was recovered from the scene.

Kerns was employed by T.J. Lanbrecht Construction, a company contracted to do work on the new highway.
