(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis firefighters responded to a house fire on the city's near west side Monday morning.

Callers to 911 alerted dispatchers to the fire around 1:15 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, fire could be seen coming from all four sides of the home.

Firefighters had trouble with a hydrant causing a two to three minute delay getting water on the fire, however they did have a second line ready to go.

The home's renter and her four children were not home at the time of the fire, but arrived home shortly after firefighters arrived.

The cause of the fire is currently not known, however IFD officials tell Fox59 the residents had several space heaters.

The fire did an estimated $45,000 dollars damage. It took firefighters about 75 minutes to bring the fire under control.
