Police: Man Sees Dinosaurs, Sells LSD

Last updated on Saturday, November 3, 2012

(GREENWOOD) - A Greenwood man screaming about a dinosaur led police to an arsenal of drugs in his apartment, police officials said Friday.

Police were called to Polo Run Apartments Thursday after residents reported that 19-year-old Edward A. Kirk III was running down the street in his pajamas screaming that a dinosaur was chasing him.

Officers confronted Kirk to see if he was OK, and he told them he was "tripping on acid," according to a news release. He admitted taking 30 "hits" of LSD and offered to show police aliens he said were in his apartment.

Investigators found about 1,000 hits of LSD in Kirk's apartment, along with what police thought was a clandestine lab. Officers also discovered ketamine, suspected DMT, suspected psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana. They also found substances that will require lab tests to properly identify.

Kirk told police he was selling LSD for money, which he said was "the people's work."
Kirk was checked at a local hospital before being taken to the Johnson County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance, reckless possession of paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct. He was released from jail after posting bond.
