Passenger Jumps From Vehicle Dies

(FORT WAYNE) - The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating an accident on North Clinton Street that killed one person early Sunday morning.

According to police, around 3:15 a.m., officers arrived on North Clinton at Grove Street and found an adult male lying in the street.

Witnesses told police a Jeep was driving southbound when the driver and passenger were involved in some type of argument. At some point, the front passenger jumped out of the vehicle and was struck by a passing car that was following behind the Jeep.

The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the passing car was not injured and police said alcohol was not involved with the second car.

North Clinton Street was closed while crews investigated the incident.

The crash remains under investigation by the FACT team.
