(WATERLOO) - A train hit a pick-up truck in Waterloo at around 4 a.m. Sunday morning, dragging it one mile down the track.

WANE TV reports, the Waterloo Police Department said the accident happened about 385 feet west of the Center Street crossing on the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.

A Dodge Dakota pick-up was left on the Norfolk Southern Railroad track for an undetermined reason when a westbound Norfolk Southern mail train struck the truck and dragged it approximately one mile down the track before coming to a stop.

Police said nobody was in the truck at the time. There were no injuries.

The investigation is still underway as to why the pick-up was left on the tracks.
