Residents Vocal About Coyote Problem

Last updated on Wednesday, October 31, 2012

(GREENWOOD) - Greenwood residents concerned about a coyote problem have been letting their city council members know they’re worried.

The Daily Journal reports, one resident told the newspaper about swinging a baseball bat to fend off a coyote, and others are saying they want more practical solutions.

But city officials said there might be little they can do to help residents keep their small dogs safe from coyotes. The city is considering the possibility of hiring trappers. Residents have reported about a dozen pets that have been killed or gone missing.

Coyotes have been spotted in southern and western parts of the Johnson County community.
