Police Close Investigation On Anderson Teacher

Last updated on Friday, October 19, 2012

(ANDERSON) - Anderson Police have closed their investigation into a photograph of a partially exposed middle school teacher that was seen by some students.

Four students were playing a game on a Highland Middle School-issued iPad when one of the students pressed a button and a photograph of the teacher's partially bare chest appeared on the screen.

Anderson Police say since the picture was not pornographic, no criminal violations occurred and the investigation was handed over to the school.

13-year old Joshua Troutt and three other students have been suspended and face possible expulsion. School officials have said the student's punishment will not be changed, but parents can appeal if they don't agree with the punishment.

Assistant Superintendent Beth Clark says action has been taken against the teacher, but did not elaborate.
