Police: Man Confesses To Fatally Stabbing Girlfriend

(SPEEDWAY) - A man was arrested after he told police he fatally stabbed his girlfriend.

Speedway Police Sgt. James Thiele says, officers were called to the 1300 block of Norfolk Circle late Tuesday after 30-year-old Brian Murphy, called police and told them he had just killed his girlfriend.

When officers arrived at the home, they found a 37-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds. She was rushed to Wishard Memorial Hospital where she later died.

The woman's identity was not released.

Police are not saying why Murphy killed the woman. The case remains under investigation.
