(KOKOMO) - Police are investigating an attempted abduction at a Walmart in Kokomo after a woman was reportedly threatened in the store's parking lot.

On Thursday night, police were sent to the Walmart in the 1900 block of East Markland Avenue after a woman said she was approached by a man in a silver vehicle.

The woman told police the man ordered her to get in the vehicle and when she refused, he told her he had a gun.

The woman walked away from the man, and he soon drove off, detectives said.

She described the man as white with a thin build wearing a dark-colored jacket.

Anyone with additional information about the incident was asked to call Kokomo Police at 765-456-7017 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
