Last updated on Wednesday, October 17, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A former North Central High School student accused of raping a classmate with special needs and molesting a young relative has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Derrik Thomas, of RTV6 reports, 18-year-old Danny Roads pled guilty Tuesday to criminal confinement and child molestation.

He was originally charged in April with rape, two counts of criminal deviate conduct, sexual battery and criminal confinement in the assault of a 16-year-old girl with the mental capacity of a second-grader.

The girl told a teacher that Roads, who is learning disabled, pushed her into a classroom, raped her and told her he would kill her if she told anyone.

School surveillance video showed Roads grabbing the girl by the arm and backpack and forcing her into the classroom as she tried to pull away.

According to a probable cause affidavit Roads told police he should have stopped because it wasn't right because the girl kept saying no over and over again.

The child molestation charge involved a separate incident in which Roads molested a 5-year-old relative in the child's home.

Roads was sentenced to six years in prison, four years in community corrections and five years on probation. He must register as a sex offender upon his release.

His mother, Linda Hoosier, was not pleased with the sentence saying her son was not guilty of the crime.
