Indianapolis Woman Arrested For Insurance Fraud

Last updated on Thursday, October 11, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indianapolis woman was arrested and preliminarily charged with three counts of forgery, one count of theft, and one count of fraud.

Nakita Manley, 33, was arrested after a five month long investigation by the Indiana State Police.

The investigation began after State Police received information from the National Insurance Crime Bureau and the Farmers Insurance Special Investigations Unit that Manley had allegedly submitted false medical records and billings to Farmers.

She reportedly collected $9,137.75 in insurance proceeds. Police say Manley also used billing records from a previous incident and altered those documents for use in a current claim.

Investigators also found that some of that money was used by Manley for personal use at amusement parks, on clothing, and for purchase of a bike.

Manley was arrested and taken to the Arrestee Processing Center.
