Two Evansville Families Displaced By Fire

(EVANSVILLE) - Two families are displaced after fire broke out on Evansville’s west side early Wednesday morning.

Nicole Niziolek, of WFIE reports, it happened in the 1600 block of West Louisiana around 12:45 a.m.

When crews arrived they found Two houses engulfed in flames.

Residents in both homes were able to get out safely along with a pet.

The fire was knocked out in about a half hour.

Officials say the first home has fire and smoke damage on the first floor, while the house next door has minor damage on the second floor.

The Red Cross is helping the families this morning.

The cause is under investigation.
