Statehouse Candidate Arrested On Cocaine Charges

(LOGANSPORT) - A candidate for the Indiana legislature was arrested for dealing cocaine Thursday in Cass County.

Kerry Worthington, 52, was taken into custody at Worly's Inn in Logansport Thursday afternoon. He was arrested on a warrant for dealing cocaine, a felony.

At the scene, he was also arrested for felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and reckless possession of drug paraphernalia.

Worthington, the Democratic candidate for the Indiana Statehouse in District 23, was booked into the Cass County Jail. He bonded out Thursday night, posting a $25,000 bond, according to a jailer.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
