(TERRE HAUTE) - One person is dead after a stabbing on Terre Haute’s southside.
Chris Essex of WTHI, reports, Monday night, just before 11:00pm, the Vigo County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from 4400 So. 8 th St. Terre Haute, in which the caller stated he had just killed his wife with a knife.
When police arrived to the scene they were met at the front door of the residence by the homeowner, (later identified as Robbie Spitler) who immediately surrendered to police without incident.
Inside the residence deputies found the body of ,Shawn Singhurse Spitler, Robbie's wife.
Initial investigation revealed the female had been stabbed.
Robbie Spitler was arrested and taken to the Vigo County Jail.
Detectives plan to charge him with murder on Tuesday.
The motive for the crime was unclear at the time of this release, however early indications are there were no signs of struggle.
