Man Intentionally Drove Car Into Home, Broke Into Another

(KNOX COUNTY) - Early Sunday morning, Indiana State Police Troopers and Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call about a driver running a car into a residence at 2424 Hillcrest Dr. in Vincennes, IN, and fleeing the scene.

Johnh Schmidt, of 10 News reports, ISP Troopers and KCSD Deputies investigated the scene of the crash, but were quickly informed that the driver had driven to another residence at 509 E. Bud Rd. in Wheatland, IN.

Officers were also informed the driver was attempting to break into the residence.

When they arrived at the second scene, they found Lance Marley, 22, of Vincennes, IN, physically fighting with the homeowner.

ISP Sergeant Jason Allen arrested Marley without further incident. Officers also discovered that Marley was intoxicated during the string of incidents.

Continuing their investigation, they found out Marley had intentionally driven his vehicle into the home on Hillcrest Dr. before driving to the residence in Wheatland.

Marley allegedly forced his way into the 509 E. Bud Rd. home by breaking open a locked door, shattering an adjacent window. He then started physically fighting with the homeowner.

Marley is being initially being charged with Residential Entry, Leaving the Scene of a Crash and Driving While Intoxicated.

Marley is currently being held in the Knox Co. Jail on bond.

The Indiana State Police and the Knox Co. Sheriff's Department assisted in the arrest and are aiding in the investigation.
