(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Attorney General’s Office has filed a licensing complaint against a local doctor accused of sexually abusing patients and writing illegal prescriptions.
The office filed the complaint Friday against Dr. Segun Rasaki. The Medical Licensing Board will review the case and decide the appropriate course of action.
Dr. Segun Rasaki faces sexual battery and battery charges.
According to a probable cause affidavit, one of Rasaki's patients told police he touched her inappropriately and fondled her while she was alone with him in an examining room.
Less than 15 minutes after Fox59 aired the original story in March, two more women called IMPD claiming the doctor touched them inappropriately during an exam.
After the Marion County Prosecutor's Office filed charges against Rasaki, the Attorney General's Office petitioned the licensing board to suspend Rasaki's license. The board approved that request on March 29, preventing him from practicing medicine until disciplinary action was filed.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department investigated complaints from female patients regarding "inappropriate sexual touching" by Rasaki. The department provided that information to the attorney general for review.
At least two patients claimed they were required to undergo a pelvic exam or pap smear every 30 days without medical necessity. Another patient said she went in to receive treatment for her ankle injury and without examination was prescribed Vicodin and required to undergo a breast exam.
The licensing board is expected to consider the complaint at its next meeting on Sept. 27.
