Last updated on Friday, September 21, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Hoosiers anticipating the arrival of Apple’s iPhone 5.

Apple's latest gadget debuts Friday. Julie Pursley, of WRTV6 reports, Hoosiers were lined up overnight at the Apple Store at the Keystone Crossing early this morning.

Around 50 people camped out overnight in front of the store, and some had been waiting since Thursday night.

The iPhone 5 is already a best seller with a record 2 million pre-sale orders, company officials said.

Verizon Wireless also carries the iPhone 5 and said it's highly anticipated because of its features.

"Many customers are excited about (the phone) being able to do FaceTime over cellular. Many devices offer this capability. For this device, that will be one benefit for them," sales manager Ted Wendling said.

FaceTime is a video calling feature and is a popular app among iPhone users.

Because the iPhone 5 offers extra features, Wendling said customers may need to increase their data plans.

"Keep in mind some of those customers may increase their data usage especially with a feature like FaceTime. Still remember you can activate and use Wi-Fi on many devices. So instead of using the cellular data network, you could possibly connect to a Wi-Fi network as well," he said.

Customers who pre-ordered the iPhone 5 are expected to receive them in early October.

The Apple store at Keystone at the Crossing was scheduled to open at 8 a.m.
