(TERRE HAUTE) - A Merrillville, Ind. teen has pleaded guilty to two felony charges connected with a crime spree that left one person dead last October.

One pleads guilty to 2011 crime spree

Joe Astrouski, of WTHI reports, authorities believe Jordan Sneed and two other teenagers escaped from Gibault Children's Services in Terre Haute in October 2011. The three teens beat a man at a nearby White Castle restaurant, stole the man's truck and crashed it during a police chase, police said.

One of the teens, Therlow Pope, died as a result of the crash.

Sneed and the other surviving teen, Andre Moton, were initially charged with murder in Pope's death, carjacking and other charges.

On Wednesday, Sneed pleaded guilty to Robbery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, an A Felony, and Attempted Carjacking, a B Felony.

Under a plea agreement, other charges including murder, carjacking and escape would be dropped and Sneed's sentence would be capped at 30 years in prison.

A sentencing hearing for Sneed is scheduled for November 16.
