Police: Man Cuts Gas Line, Tries To Blow Up House

(MUNCIE) - A Muncie man sawed through a gas line in an attempt to blow up his own home, police said.

David Allen Dishroon, 36, was arrested early Sunday on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness and criminal mischief, the Star Press reported.

Police said Dishroon used a hacksaw to puncture a hole in a gas line outside the south side home that he shares with two roommates.

Dishroon told officers that the leak, "wasn't supposed to be that bad," but said that he wanted to, "blow this place up," police said.

Firefighters had been called to the home a few hours earlier on a report of a burning mattress in the back yard. One of the other men living in the home said Dishroon admitting to setting the blaze.

No one was injured in either incident.

Dishroon told police he had consumed at least 18 beers over the course of the evening.

He was being held at the Delaware County Jail on Monday.
