(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police said a fight between a man and a woman escalated into a stabbing early Tuesday in the Fountain Square neighborhood.
About 1:30 a.m., Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Woodlawn Avenue on reports of a domestic situation.
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed in the chest. Police said he was hospitalized in critical condition.
The woman was arrested and taken into custody on unknown charges, officials said.
Investigators said the couple had gotten into a fight moments before the stabbing occurred.
Their names were not released.
