Last updated on Saturday, August 25, 2012

(TERRE HAUTE) - One person was killed and two others were wounded when an Indiana State University student fired shots in a parking lot of the Terre Haute campus, police said.

William Mallory, 21, opened fire about 3 a.m. Friday following a disagreement in a bar across the street from the parking lot, police said.

Dustin Kelly, 24, of Terre Haute, was fatally shot. Two other Terre Haute men were wounded in the shooting.

Police said Mallory surrendered later to officers in the Indianapolis area.

Police said words were exchanged inside the Ballyhoo Tavern and that disagreement continued out to the parking lot with the shootings about an hour later.
