(MIAMI COUNTY) - A Miami County house fire claimed the lives of two people early Sunday.
Firefighters were called to the Estates at Eagle Point just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, where they found heavy smoke and fire coming from a home.
Michael T. Lamb, 56, and Shannon M. Scheibelhut, 40, were found suffering from fire and smoke-related injuries.
Scheibelhut was taken to Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru, where she was pronounced dead.
Lamb was taken to Dukes and then transferred to the burn unit at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, where he died early Sunday.
Investigators said it appears the fire started near an electrical source in the front room of the home.
