(BOONVILLE) - An incoming Castle High School Freshman is under investigation by the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say a Facebook post discovered this weekend revealed threats against staff and students.
The post read, "First day of school going to be great guys! Most of you will see me raise the weapon, but let's see how many of you can out run the bullet. Castle High, here I come."
Superintendent Brad Schneider says when the school corporation was made aware of this threat, it then contacted the sheriff's office. Sheriff Brett Kruse says he understands everyone's concern.
"Sure they're concerned about it," said Sheriff Kruse. "You know, with the recent shooting in Colorado, it's at the top of everyone's mind and they're concerned about it. There's a lot of strange things happening in this world today, and everybody wants to make sure their children are safe when they go to school."
The threats are being taken very seriously but the student is not in custody. Officials promise this investigation to be thorough and ensures the safety of all students and staff.
