(MUNCIE) - A man was killed early Sunday morning when he rode his bicycle into the path of an oncoming train.
The collision happened just after midnight on tracks that cross Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn said.
The victim was identified as Phillip Dwain Howell, 47, of Muncie.
Hahn said Howell was wearing earphones and went around crossing arms as the train neared. Investigators came to that conclusion after talking to witnesses and reviewing video from the train.
