Last updated on Tuesday, July 24, 2012

(CRAWFORDSVILLE) - Police are investigating after a senior at Wabash College was found dead in a dorm room early Monday.

Eric Michael Schilling, 21, of Indianapolis, was found dead in a room at College Hall by a resident assistant just after 8:30 a.m., school officials said.

Schilling was not living in the residence hall but had returned to campus to visit friends, the school said.

Schilling was pursuing a double major in English and German and had made the dean's list at the all-male school.

His brother is a sophomore at Wabash, school officials said.

"All at Wabash College are deeply saddened by the tragic passing," the school said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family."
