Teens Arrested In Homeless Man's Death

Last updated on Sunday, July 1, 2012

(EVANSVILLE) - Police have charged two Evansville foster siblings with murder in connection with the strangulation of a homeless man.

18-year-old William Jeffery Hurt and 19-year-old Deadra Hurt were being held Friday at the Vanderburgh County Jail in Evansville. The Evansville Courier & Press reports two juveniles also living in their foster home have been arrested in connection with the slaying of 54-year-old Marcus Golike, whose body was found in the Ohio River June 17.

Police say Golike had visited the Hurts' home and had left before the two and others from the home found him walking down a street and attacked him.

Police say that after dumping the body, the group used Golike's debit card to buy sodas and snacks.

It wasn't clear if the Hurts had attorneys.
