Last updated on Tuesday, July 24, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A worker died from injuries sustained at a job site Monday, police said.

Officials said Ronald Davenport, 53, of Indianapolis, was seriously injured when the arms of a skid loader were lowered on him, pinning him between the arms and the frame of the machine.

Davenport had been standing on the side of the skid loader when the operator, Troy Penn, 44, lowered the arms without knowing that Davenport was in the way.

Police said the Davenport was taken to Wishard Hospital, where he later died.

Penn told police he and Davenport worked for Greene Thumb Landscaping and were at the job site, in the 2300 block of Lafayette Road, to remove a fallen tree.
