Police: Fight Leaves Man Dead, Other Man Slashed

Last updated on Monday, July 30, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A fight between two men left one dead and the other slashed in a home on Indianapolis’ west side Saturday, police said.

Officers were called to a home in the 1600 block of Beulah Avenue at 3 p.m. after a woman ran from the home screaming, "Call the police!" witnesses said.

A 25-year-old man was found inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Officers also found a 35-year-old man inside the home suffering from a large cut on his head. He was taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in good condition.

"At this time, investigators are attempting to determine the events leading up to the shooting, but they believe some type of argument may have ensued between the deceased and the injured males just prior to the shooting," said Indianapolis police spokesman Officer Kendale Adams.

No arrests had been made Saturday night. The victims' names were not released.
