(INDIANAPOLIS) - It should be a concern for everyone.

More than 50 weapons are out on the streets and police want them returned to their rightful owner. 24 Hour News 8 Anchor Daniel Miller was tipped off to the stolen weapons.

IMPD said it is a concern because these high powered weapons are in the hands of the wrong person. The owner of the weapons told police he had a large collection. He said he's been robbed before of a few guns, but this time the suspects took everything.

Lawrence Bordenkecher is an avid gun collector.

"That's my hobby; collecting them, cleaning them and restoring guns," he said. Bordenkecher showed 24 Hour News 8 a picture of his gun collection.

"There was an M1 Grand, a 1903 Springfield, a SKS, Russian Nagant Rifle, a couple of British Rifles," Bordenkecher said. Now, he only has 2 guns left.

Last Thursday police called Bordenkecher to tell him he'd been robbed and how the suspects got in to his house.

"They threw a rock through this sliding glass door right here. That's where they came in at. There was just a big pile of glass inside and out," he said.

Once inside the house the suspects went upstairs to a bedroom. Bordenkecher said he always kept the room locked, even using several security bolts, but the suspects busted right through them. Inside, the walls filled with rifles and guns are now bare. The only things left are the gun supports in the walls. Even the gun cabinet is empty.

"This gun cabinet was full. All of these pins had rifles hanging on them," Bordenkecher said

Police estimate the suspects were in the house for just a few minutes and could have escaped without being seen, but one of them pointed a gun at a 9 year-old girl who lives in the neighborhood. She ran home and told her mother, who called police.

The suspects were seen leaving the neighborhood on a red moped. Police were able to recover finger prints from inside the home. IMPD detectives are actively working this case. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 262-TIPS.
