Fatal Crash In Pike County

(PIKE COUNTY) - The Pike County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at around 5:50 p.m. on Sunday about a vehicle accident involving an injury.

The accident was on State Road 57 and County Road 550 North just north of Petersburg.

Travis Craig of Petersburg, 21, was traveling south on State Road 57 when he went left of the center for an unknown reason, according to Rockville Police Department.

His car sideswiped a telephone pole and began to flip. He was ejected from the vehicle on County Road 550 North.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger of the vehicle, 21-year-old Crystal McCammon, was in the front seat wearing her seatbelt. She only complained of minor injuries and was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, according to officers.

State Road 57 was closed for approximately an hour.

Alcohol is not suspected in the crash. The accident is still under investigation.
