Last updated on Tuesday, July 3, 2012

(FRANKLIN) - 3 people were hurt in a 4 vehicle crash on I-65 in Johnson County Monday evening. Indiana State Police were called shortly after 5pm to the Franklin exit.

Ruthanne Gordon of WISH reports that, according to investigators, 44-year-old John Livingstone of Sarina, Ontario was operating a semi and failed to slow down.

Officers say there were two other crashes north of the State Road 44 exit at the time.

Livingstone's semi struck the rear of a car driven by 18 year old Kristopher Housley, of Indianapolis and pushed his car into the rear of another semi operated by 31 year old Brian Stafford of Augusta Michigan.

Stafford's semi was shoved into the rear of another semi driven by 62-year-old Michael Williams of Buna, Texas.

Kristopher Housley and his front seat passenger 50-year-old Bettie Housley, of Indianapolis, were taken by Lifeline to IU Methodist Hospital.

Williams was taken to IU Methodist by ambulance after suffering a medical condition after the crash.

The northbound lanes were closed for approximately four hours while the crash was investigated.

No word yet if charges will be filed.
