(INDIANAPOLIS) - The trial for a man accused of killing a 13-year-old girl 26 years ago got underway Monday.
Paul Reese St. has been charged with the murder of Dawn Stuard on the east side in 1986. Police said she was strangled and beaten to death.
This is the second time Reese has been charged with this murder.
He was released in 1987 over problems with witnesses and a lack of strong scientific evidence. New DNA evidence has been introduced since then.
Reese is already serving a prison sentence for his role in killings committed by his son.
