(TERRE HAUTE) - Vigo Co. Sheriff’s Deputies arrested three suspects for the assault of a south Walmart employee early Sunday morning.
At around 4:30 a.m., Jo Curry, an employee from the south Walmart was attacked by three suspects when she got out of her car in the parking lot, and attempted to walk into the building.
According to Curry, the three juveniles approached her and demanded the keys to her car. After refusing multiple times and telling them to leave, one of the suspects struck her over the head one to two times with a glass bottle. The suspects then fled the scene.
Curry has been treated at Union Hospital and released.
Vigo Co. Sheriff's Deputies' investigation revealed that the juveniles' purse theft occurred inside the Honey Creek Mall at "The Shoe Department," while the victim was trying on shoes.
The juveniles were arrested Sunday afternoon in the southern part of Terre Haute after a short chase.
Names of the suspects have not yet been released. However, Gibault confirmed Sunday morning that the three juveniles had in fact escaped the facility earlier in the weekend.
