Teen Killed, 2 Hurt In Crash

(BOONE COUNTY) - A 17-year-old was killed and two people were injured in a crash involving a car and a pickup truck in Boone County on Friday afternoon.

The crash happened about 1:40 p.m. on U.S. 421 at State Road 47, the Boone County Sheriff's Deaprtment said.

Investigators said Jordan Franklin, 17, of Fishers, was southbound on U.S. 421 before veering off the road for an unknown reason.

Franklin overcorrected and crossed into oncoming traffic. The driver of the truck, Jacqueline Jansing, 29, of Lebanon, was unable to avoid striking the car.

Franklin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jansing and her 1-year-old passenger were rushed to St. Vincent Hospital.

Information about their conditions was not immediately released.
