(NEW CASTLE) - Two inmates who escaped from the New Castle Correctional Facility on Thursday were captured and taken back into custody, Indiana State Police said.

Just before 3 p.m., State Police were notified about two inmates who went missing during recreation at the facility.

After searching for nearly three hours, police said they found Johnny Hines, 26, of Muncie, and Christopher Hoover, 33, of Greensburg, at the Oakville Co-Op, 10 miles north of the prison in Delaware County.

ISP said Hines and Hoover surrendered without incident and were taken back into custody.

Police said Hines had been incarcerated for theft and fraud, and was due to be released in July. Hoover had been incarcerated for burglary and auto theft, and was due to be released October 2013.

Both Hines and Hoover now face additional charges of felony escape, police said.
