Last updated on Tuesday, June 5, 2012

(MORGANTOWN) - Morgan County police are seeking the public’s help to identify a bank robbery suspect.

Just after 9 a.m. Monday, the suspect displayed a handgun and demanded money from a teller at First Merchants Bank, 180 W. Washington St., Morgantown, according to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect, whose picture can be seen above from bank surveillance footage, is described as a white male between 45 and 55 years old, heavy-set with nearly shoulder-length blond/graying hair. He left the scene in a black newer-model four-door Honda car, made a U-turn in front of the bank then headed east on Ind. 135 toward the Trafalgar area, police said.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect should contact Detective Sgt. Dan Downing at the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, 765-342-5544.
