(INDIANAPOLIS) - Police said a teen who was injured herself and three others in a fiery single-car crash could face charges in juvenile court.

The crash happened just before noon Tuesday in the 800 block of South Mickley Avenue, near Washington Street and Lynhurst Drive.

Witnesses said a 14-year-old girl was driving with three teenage boys in the car when she came up over a hill, lost control and struck a tree, causing the car to burst into flames.

"They come speeding through here all the time. They were doing about 70 (mph) when they came up over the hill. I was riding my lawnmower and they came flying up over that hill and went airborne. I got the hell out of the way," said witness Donnie Ensey.

The posted speed limit on South Mickley Avenue is 30 mph, but police said the car was traveling at least double that speed before going airborne, RTV6's Ebone Monet reported.

When the car burst into flames, residents in the area rushed to help.

"The car caught fire, so we had to start grabbing fire extinguishers or whatever we could until the ambulance got there," witness Michael Robinson said. "Once we got the car door open, we could see that there were passengers in there trapped. One guy was coherent. He was screaming, 'Please get me out of here! This car is on fire!'"

Police said none of the teens were wearing seat belts.

All four teens remained hospitalized Tuesday night, but their conditions were not released.
