(INDIANAPOLIS) - Ten months after the deadliest accident ever at the Indiana State Fair, a memorial plaque will be shown to the public for the first time.
The State Fair Commission hasn't said much about the plaque other than it will be unveiled right after today's State Fair Commission meeting.
The plaque will be in front of the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand, the stage that collapsed during a severe thunderstorm last August, killing seven and injuring more than 40.
Though the fair commission is trying to move forward with plans for this year's fair, the collapse will dominate the landscape for the foreseeable future. Rather than a stage at the fairgrounds, concerts for this year's fair will be held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. And there are the lawsuits, many of them, that won't go to trial until next year at the earliest.
