2 Found Fatally Shot Inside Car

Last updated on Monday, June 18, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Two men were found fatally shot inside a car on Indianapolis’ northwest side early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the intersection of West 38th Street and Georgetown Road about 2:40 a.m. after multiple calls to 911 indicated that there had been a shooting there.

"When responding officers arrived, they found a green Ford with two subjects suffering from gunshot wounds," said Kendale Adams, Indianapolis police public information officer. "EMS crews arrived and pronounced one victim deceased, and a second victim was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital in critical condition, where he later was pronounced deceased."

The victims were identified as Andre Stennette-Harrod, 21, and his brother, LaVonne Harrod, 24, both of Indianapolis.

Investigators believe the men had been at Club 9, a nearby club that was hosting a concert early Sunday morning. Officers had been staging near the club because of concerns that there could be violence.

"Detectives continue to track down witnesses and evaluate physical evidence in an attempt to identify a suspect or suspects, but believe several people could have witnessed the actual shooting or circumstances that led up to the shooting," Adams said.

If the victims had just left the club, Sunday morning shooting would mark the third club-related shooting in Indianapolis over the weekend.

Police asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
