Police Arrest Woman Accused Of Attacking Disabled Mother

Last updated on Friday, May 25, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - A woman accused of attacking and robbing her disabled mother was taken into custody without incident on Thursday, Indianapolis metro police said.

Detectives had been searching for Jessica Strahl, 28, after they said she came to her mother's home on the afternoon of May 18 asking for money.

When the woman refused, Strahl pushed her mother to the ground and ripped two gold necklaces from her neck, police said.

The victim, who is an amputee and walks with a cane, suffered injuries to her arm and back.

As she left her mother's home, Strahl grabbed the woman's cane so she couldn't follow, police said.

She then got into a red pickup truck with tinted windows with an unknown driver.

Strahl pawned the necklaces later that day, police said.

Strahl faced a preliminary felony robbery charge and was taken into custody at the Marion County Arrestee Processing Center.
