(INDIANAPOLIS) - Two central Indiana funeral homes are stepping up to bury a woman whose body was found in an abandoned building four years after she died.
Construction workers found Pauline Keller's body in a casket in a building on May 2 in the 2300 block of North Meridian Street.
Her guardian, U.Z. Tinker, said Keller paid Marvin Boatright Funeral Service for her burial 10 years before she died. Tinker said he was deeply moved when he learned his friend's body had been abandoned.
Greg and Sheila Parks, owners of Murphy-Parks Funeral Service said they felt compelled to help Tinker give Keller a proper burial free of charge.
Directors at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis have agreed to pay for a grave site and a vault where Keller will be buried beside her late husband.
Keller's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Floral Park Cemetery.
Organizers encouraged members of the community to attend.
