(INDIANAPOLIS) - The former treasurer of the PTA at an Indianapolis elementary school has been arrested on charges she stole $11,000 meant for student activities.
Candace N. Cadwell, 34, served as the treasurer of the PTA at Glenns Valley Elementary in the Metropolitan School District of Perry Township.
After a four-month investigation, state police said they determined that Cadwell had stolen $11,000 between June 2009 and June 2011.
Because of the missing money, Glenns Valley Elementary had to cancel several annual events for students, police said.
Cadwell was arrested Friday on a preliminary charge of theft.
