Last updated on Saturday, April 28, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Andrew Luck was all smiles as he waived to thousands of cheering fans inside Lucas Oil Stadium Friday.

The Colts held a Draft Party at the stadium to welcome their first draft pick to the city. It was also the first time Luck met Colts fans in person. He answered a few questions from an emcee and then spoke to the crowd.

"I feel so humbled, so honored to be able to represent the city. It really is a dream come true," he said.

People held up their cell phones and iPads, snapping pictures of the new quarterback. Aftewards, they talked about their first impression.

"Oh my gosh. He's everything they say he is," said Laura Limbach of Indianapolis. "He was humble. He just absolutely, I think he's embracing everything."

"(He) seems like he's a man of integrity and he's gonna bring some good things to Indianapolis and the Colts," said Rusty Hunt.

His brother Scott Hunt added, "I like the direction the team is going with him and I'm pretty excited about having him here."

Fans said they were excited to finally meet the new face of the Colts franchise, but now they are ready to watch him play.

"I think he's following the hardest act in football that there is, Peyton Manning. But I have a gut feeling this kid's gonna succeed," said Carter Hofmeister.

"I'm ready! Let's play some football!" said Limbach.
