Last updated on Sunday, April 1, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Storms began to sweep through the state early Sunday, bringing a chance of severe weather.

Thunder could be heard across central Indiana a thin line of storms moved through with a warm front, which is expected to bring temperatures into the high 70s Sunday.

A cold front is expected to move through later in the day, again accompanied by a line of showers and possible storms.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of central Indiana and eastern Indiana in the slight risk zone for severe weather.

The greatest threats would be damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain.

Temperatures will surge again Monday, with an expected high of 81 in Indianapolis. That would tie the previous record for the day.
