(TERRE HAUTE) - A Terre Haute woman will be in court Wednesday in connection with what police are calling a case of child neglect.
Police say 1-year-old Daeshawan Michael Ward was taken to an Indianapolis hospital with serious head injuries.
A police investigation found the baby with multiple skull fractures and bruising on his body.
Family friend Isea Jones was caring for the baby and told police she had left the child asleep unrestrained in a high chair.
She says she later heard a noise and found the child lying face down on the floor.
