(GARRETT) - A northern Indiana high school senior has been expelled for allegedly tweeting an expletive on a school computer.
WPTA-TV reports Garrett High School senior Austin Carroll was expelled after school officials say he tweeted a profanity under his Twitter account using a school computer.
Carroll says he tweeted the word from home using his personal computer and believes "it's none of their business."
His mother, Pam Smith, says Austin should have been suspended for a few days but he shouldn't have been kicked out of school three months before graduation.
Garrett schools Superintendent Dennis Stockdale tells The Journal Gazette he cannot comment on any student's case. But he says the school has never disciplined any student for anything they posted online using their own computer outside the school's network.
