Purdue Graduate Takes Helm At McDonald's

(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indiana native and Purdue University graduate will soon lead the nation’s largest hamburger fast food chain.

Don Thompson, 48, will succeed Jim Skinner as McDonald's chief executive officer. Skinner is set to retire June 30.

Thompson has acted most recently as the company's president and chief operating officer. He has been with the company for 22 years.

Thompson will take the helm beginning July 1.
