Homeless Animals Calling Indy Home

Last updated on Sunday, March 11, 2012

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Dozens of animals affected by the tornadoes that struck Southern Indiana on March 2 are now calling Indianapolis home.

The animals were taken in by the Humane Society of Indianapolis because the Clark County shelter does not have enough room to house them. Indy Humane took in 33 animals on Saturday, 18 dogs and 15 cats.

It will be a couple of weeks before animals will be put up for adoptions, partly because the shelter wants to give them some time to settle in, and partly because several of the animals haven't been spayed or neutered.
